For the third consecutive year, Nike elevated Wodcelona as the most inclusive Cross Training event in the world. This year, the challenge was to demonstrate Nike’s authenticity in Cross Training to the sport’s community and athletes.
The ambition was to create a sweat-obsessed space, with a very explicit focus on authentic performance training as a way to prove Nike's product superiority with the launch of the new Free Metcon 6 and the still relevant Metcon 9.
The space was led by a product installation that visually displayed the Stability of the Metcon 9 and the versatility of the Free Metcon 6. This installation guided athletes to the product trial, where they could experience these benefits on-body completing the Metcon Challenge, a 5-minute WOD that would put their strength and endurance to the test. The reward (or punishment) was waiting for them in the Metcon wheel, where they could win a pair of Metcons, get custom freebies… or add more burpees to their count.
After 3 days, more than 640 athletes completed the Metcon Challenge, leaving with a rapid breathing and drenched in sweat, but with a huge smile that proved their authentic connection with the experience.
